It’s a late answer , but see an ongoing situation, but . Darrell isn’t sold on the relationship yet. He has one foot in and one foot out. Watch out about begging for scraps. You deserve to have someone who appreciates you. Give it some time, and if he doesn’t step up, be willing to walk away.

I see a good chance of a reconnect, but it will take some time. I know it’s not easy, but you’ve got to get the heaviness off of you. Get out, have fun, get you strength built up from the inside out. Get to where you don’t need it to happen. Here’s a good article:
