I am sensing that if this goes beyond friendship, it will have to happen slowly. If it is too rushed, it may backfire. I would say give it 3-6 months to develop. Take time to really get to know him.
He may be afraid to make the first move, but if you do, he may think you are too aggressive. Let him know you are open through direct eye contact, genuine interest in him and smiles.
But do not give off desperation. He already thinks you are fantastic; he wants to know you do too–that you have confidence in yourself…..
