My friend who gives mix signals

Me and my friend, known eachother for 16 years and went to school together. We did have a crush, on eachother in high school but never pursue it. We lost connection for a few years, but recently reconnected and constintly talk about everything. We are going through some personal issues, with our personal lives and some how we are there for eachother. We did have sex together and continue to do so, but he gives me mixed signals. It seems like he loves me and wants to make it official but then again he dont cause he seems confused.
